Glad we could be of help. But I get the impression that these are not really megaliths in the normal understanding of the word, but a much more recent doorway. Still, its a pretty ancient site, whatever.

Thank you so very very much!
It's still quite difficult to find photographs of it online but at least now I know where to look and a name to go on. I do very much appreciate it, I've always had a draw to the standing stones and when you add in human skulls it's and instant favourite!

Hello, I was hoping that someone here could help me.
For a while now I have been trying to find information on one particular megalith.
Years ago in a book about the standing stones of England, Ireland, and Scotland which I cannot remember the title of there were photos and a blip of info about one structure I have been rather intrigued about and it's been really frustration trying to find anything more about it.
I can't remember exactly if it was Ireland or Scotland, pretty sure it was Ireland though but the structure it was made up of a few Stonehenge-like trilithons, at least 2 still standing upright in the time of black and white photos, with about 3 hollowed out alcoves in each of the pillars of the trilithons each hollow had a human skull in it.
If anyone knows of the name, location or any information of these stones I would very much appreciate it, thank you!

Hi Chap
I think the site you are describing is in France and is sometimes called the Sanctuary of Roquepertuse, Gaule. It is a La Tene II (Iron Age) shrine dedicated to a cult of the head as it seems IA people believed the head.
whoa!! I really should read over my posts before I send them!
What I meant to go on to say was.....
.....the head to be the "soul" of an individual.
