Sorry to hear about your disappointing attempt to see the sunrise SEM. At least you put in a lot of effort getting to these sites. I note that you've been encouraging others to follow your example..... I wonder if they will?!
Good luck with sunset.

Yes, I did go to see a sunrise, in the Brecon Beacons.
Arrived at 5.30am and with the aid of a couple torches, lots of stumbling and some hard walking got in situ at 6.30. Despite a clear sky, the sun only deigned to appear about an hour later, by which time my bladder was so full of coffee that I wasn't interested.
Spoke to JackME last night and from experience he reckons you only get 50 days in a year when you can see a sunrise in any given location.
Maybe I'll try a sunset tomorrow.

Yup - I'm growing my hair (excuse me here everyone ) aiming to end up with a pony tail if possible - if I do it before I'm 40 it doesn't look too much like a mid-life crisis!

It was good to visit inside the church - the green men were superb too. What a spot. I think something was going on here before the church was, especially with its view over the Walton Basin. I pondered the landscape yesterday lunchtime over a couple crisp cold ciders in the autumn sunshine, and I think it's wondrous to mull over.

Cheers

Hi Tim

Glad you got inside this time. Not often we get to recognise a signature in those books, eh?

Look fwd to equinox pics.

I note you had better luck at Four Stones. The crop was high when I visited in June! (Your hair has grown!)

All the best

Just out of interest....

Has anyone already been to see Equinox sunrise or sunset and where?

It would be good to share reports on successful site visits.
