Google 'Puy du Fou Le Grand Parc' and see more about a fantastic theme park experience my daughter and her family recently enjoyed. (Somewhere inland, in the Vendee.)
If you're in the area on your 'vacances' you may want to take in a visit. Not cheap but worth every penny. [I believe the adults paid about £30 each, for instance.] Haven't seen their photos yet, but description left me breathless!
There is a massive Roman ampitheatre and gladiators, and real tigers, etc, Vikings, Mediaeval and much more. The website gives a good overall impression of the site and you can zoom in to various parts of it.
