In the past week, I've added around 60 new site entries for Anglo Saxon crosses / Viking / Norse Christian places to the Portal Database.
Areas concerned:
barnsley
bolton
bradford
calderdale
cumbria
durham
yorkshire (N, E, S & W)
hampshire
lancashire
leeds
leicestershire
northumberland
notts
peterborough
worcestershire
and others...
So if hunting down hogbacks, saxon shafts, wheel heads, and monuments pre-Norman is up your street, have a dig around.
I've added the bare bones; sites named by patronage, and then place - St Jo Blogsus (Somewhere).
The ID I use for Christian(ised) sites lists the last 20 gone in (Just3Days)
http://www.megalithic.co.uk/user.php?op=userinfo&uname=Just3Days&limit=1000
Hope you find getting to these places as interesting, if not more so, than I have researching them and adding them on the Portal (and please share your photos here! Most are in areas I do not foresee visiting much, if at all).
Every blessing,
Tim
