Hi Dave,
the only other bit of info I could find was this...http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/science/unearthingmysteries_20030819.shtml... but I doubt it contains anything not in the Current Archaeology feature.

Thanks for the link AndyH!
Unfortunately, that was the info I already had - can't seem to find much else.
Just me being impatient I guess!

So, it's a bit like a tri(g) point, but much older, with lines coming out...
sound good.
Cheers for information!

It has three spokes radiating out from a central pile of stones, which are often aligned with celestial risings/settings.
So far, I think they've only been found in Northumbria?

So, how exactly does a tri-radial cairn manifest itself? how would I know one if I saw one?
cheers

Hi Dave,
here's a link to an article in a recent issue of Current Archaeology on Tri-radial Cairns...

They've only been discovered recently so there is only recent thinking. Have you heard the BBC R4 programme by Aubrey Manning, linked from our 'Downloads'. Best info in that I'd guess.

I recall reading a little about these a while ago...
Anyone know what the latest thinking is concerning these curious features?
Thanks.
