Logaston press do some regional guides by county's. they are written by George Children and George Nash( is there something about Georges and archaeology, probably genetic)
they are quite good for lots of sites ,with directions, a generally good description and some opinions on each sites possible origins. lots of photo's and diagrams. good allround guides without too much detail.

I had luck to buy this book when I was visiting Welsh archaeological sites 2 years ago, and I really recommend it. Good choice of various archaeological sites all over Wales.

Just a thought to those of us who like books - there's a damn good website called 'Green Metropolis' where all the books there (and there are thousands) cost just £3.75 each. There's quite a lot of decent history works listed, which might be of interest to MegPortal folk. You can also post any books of your own to sell totally free of charge and get 3-quid for every one sold, straight into your account.

There's also eBid, TazBar, QXL, CQout and other auction sites, aswell as eBay, where you can also find cheap archaeo-books from time to time.

Wow!!! Sounds good. Let Mike have a gander first - and then if no-one else wants it, how would you fancy adding it to my huge megalithic library (about 5000 books & 2000 journals). It would live in its midst for many many years and be well looked after!
I do have quite a few books which I've got extra copies of. If there's owt you'd like, lemme know. PM me with a list of any book 'wants' you may have and I'll see what I can do.

Grimes Prehistory of Wales - gives general introduction to all prehistoric sites it is old (1951) but has extensive catalogue of what has been found circa £10
George Nash The Architecture of Death - This is a new find to me when I was doing a little research before my trip it has a good grouping of the chambered tombs broken down into regions. circa £15.00 only down side is for a new book it could have done with colour pictures but I would still recommend this.
Another is Wheeler's Prehistoric and Roman Wales - again it is old but again has good drawings and pictures of artefacts. Circa £14
It depends on your period of interest in prehistory I guess or is it a general interest?
