Description: Following years of research, I propose that the carvings on the Pictish Symbol Stones are for religious purposes being made following the Roman withdrawal of around 400 CE. They are deciphered as relevant to a modified form of Roman Mithraism which I have called Pictish Mithraism. For example the V-Rod and Crescent comprises descending and ascending arrows from/to the celestial sphere representing the travel of the soul at birth and on death.
