Poggio Colla is an Etruscan archaeological site located near the town of Vicchio in Tuscany, Italy. It was inhabitated by the early 7th century BCE. The settlement was &quot;violently&quot; destroyed in the late 3rd century BCE and rebuilt in the Hellenistic period.</description>

Via cava (excavated or quarried road) are narrow roads, cut vertically out of solid rock, which switchback up and down inside the steep Tuscan tufa cliffs, connecting the valley floors to roads on the clifftops. They often have vertical sidewalls though some have inward-leaning sidewalls. Several of the many roadway shafts are fairly spectacular (some are still in use). This particular road, Via cava di S. Sebastiano, was quite interesting.</description>

This is a really fascinating ruined large tomb/necropolis in a spectacular valley, but the whole area is really worth a visit of at least two days. Necropolis in the valley directly below the town of Sovana. The largest intact tomb features a relief of the Siren, or Melusine - the two-tailed mermaid of pre-history, who also happens to grace Starbucks' logo. One can enter several interesting and nicely carved rock-cut tombs.</description>
