Cave in Fife with Pictish carvings This cave received its name from a poor man, Jonathan who lived here with his family during the 18th Century. He was a nail-maker but hand-made nails were priced out of the market when the Carron Iron Works was established in 1759. However a few years ago some of his nails were found on the floor of the Cave.</description>

This heavily damaged cairn has 25m in diameter and is 1.3m high. The excavations in 1930 unearthed a NE-SW orientated cist with a flat slab and a Food Vessel inside.</description>

A decorated boulder lies near the NW corner of Carnasserie Castle, in a well-maintained area around the 16th century monument. The slab is decorated with large, deep cup-marks, some of them cut by edges of the stone (possible evidence for quarrying).</description>

Museum in Dumfries and Galloway. For hundreds of years, pilgrims heading to Whithorn crossed a landscape dotted with ancient churches and ornately carved stone crosses. Such sculpted stones included grave markers of early Christians who lived through the centuries of conflict after the collapse of Roman authority.</description>
