Standing Stone (Menhir) in RogalandThis beautiful standing stone called &quot;Resastaven&quot; is located only 1 metre away from a country road. The name &quot;Resastaven&quot; may refer to the word Rese or Rise which means troll or giant. It might have a similar local tale as the Guddalen standing stone.</description>

<title>Bøvika standing stones</title>

This tall and slender standing stone is one of the most beautiful standing stones I have seen so far! 
The stone is standing on top of a small round cairn, probably a burial cairn. It is only 5 metres wide and covered in grass and some smaller leaved trees. </description>

This site consists of two tall and very pretty standing stones. They are located on the top of a small rocky hill overlooking the sea to the east and the nearby farmlands to the west. They are inside a fence and on a grazing ground for sheep. The nearby road is very close, making the stones easily visible from it.</description>

On this low grassy plain that goes all the way down to sea level (around 350 metres to the west) there is a large barrow cemetery. The site has been marked with signposts and the short cut grass in the cemetery makes the barrows easy to see.</description>

<title>Vestre Goa standing stones</title>

Standing Stones in RogalandThese three standing stones are located inside a private garden just one metre away from a garage and two metres away from a stone fence surrounding the garden. It consists of three pretty standing stones. The ground is of short grass and some trees have been planted around the garden.</description>

<title>Helland Runestone</title>

Carving in RogalandOn Helland farm there were three known rune stones. Two of these have been preserved. This rune stone is probably located where it was originaly erected around the year 1000. The stone is adorned with ornaments in the Ringerike style. The inscription is from the younger futhark. This is a runic script that was common in West Norway and Western Isles in the Viking Age.</description>

The settlement at Løbrekk is located on a hill with a very nice view north towards Tau. It was not archaeologically investigated. You can see the housings, old stone fences and burial mounds.</description>

The barrow cemetery at Hå is one of many cemeteries along the shoreline from Kvassheim in the south to Sele in the north. In this four mile-long stretch about 600 graves are recorded. Most of these are made in the rolling-rock belt along the shoreline.</description>

<title>Tau-Åna stone age settlement</title>

Ancient Village or Settlement in RogalandThe settlement at Tau-Åna was discovered during an archaeological registration in 1985. A landowner had found a number of flint stones that could have been from this location. During the registration they found 40 shards of flint, most of them probably remains after production of tools or weapons.</description>
