Austrheim standing stone

. This is one of the most beautiful standing stones I have seen and in one of the most beautiful settings!
The stone is located on a small mound (probably a barrow) called "Hellehaugen". It is around 5 metres in diameter and around 0.5 metres in height. The mound itself is of no notable size, but the stone on top is really making it notable!

Standing Stone (Menhir) in RogalandThis beautiful standing stone called "Resastaven" is located only 1 metre away from a country road. The name "Resastaven" may refer to the word Rese or Rise which means troll or giant. It might have a similar local tale as the Guddalen standing stone.

Årbakka is an old name, said to mean "the farmstead by the river." For more than 350 years the historic site on Årbakkasanden, with its menhirs and stone barrows have been visited, referred to and illustrated by many a learned researcher. However, we still know very little about this distinctive cultural site. Investigations show that Årbakka is an early iron-age burial cemetery.
