Humbleton Hill

. This Iron Age hillfort is one of the most spectacular in Northumberland. It is located on the top of a hill with great views of the area west and north (as far as Dod Law hillfort) of Wooler. The course of the stone ramparts is perfectly distinguishable, as well as the adjacent enclosure with hut platforms - it is unclear whether this is contemporary with the hillfort.

This irregular-shaped outcrop is decorated with simple cup-marks and cups with arcs. Only one cup (close to the SW corner of the panel) has an obvious complete ring, but Beckensall recorded more possible single rings, now much eroded.
