Tracey Ramsbottom (nee Brown) writes: I produced and edited the Devon earth mysteries magazine Wisht Maen between 1993-1996. I have now scanned and made all the issues available to download via the Megalithic Portal. The issues feature some fantastic artwork by Anna Clarke and some very interesting articles by Paul Broadhurst, Cheryl Straffon, Andy Norfolk, Jeremy Harte, Pete Glastonbury and others.</description>

<title>Ringmoor Down Cairn 4</title>

On the open moor of Ringmoor Down, to the north of Brisworthy, several varied cairns can be found. Cairn 4 is marked on the OS map as enclosure, about 100m southwest of the circle of stones, and is likely the remains of a fairly large ring cairn of 35 metres diameter. </description>

<title>Ringmoor Down Cairn 1</title>

On the open moor of Ringmoor Down, to the north of Brisworthy, several varied cairns can be found. The 10 metre diameter Cairn 1 is about 100m east of Brisworthy stone circle, and was excavated in 1909 with little found. </description>

On the open moor of Ringmoor Down, to the north of Brisworthy, several varied cairns can be found. The splendid 5m diameter cairn 2 is to be found about 3 or 400 metres to the northeast of Brisworthy stone circle, but out of sight over the hill. </description>

<title>Legis Tor Cairns</title>

On the south facing slopes to the east of Legis Tor, uphill from the eastern part of the settlement, can be found the remains of two fairly small cisted cairns about 4 metres in diameter. </description>

<title>Trowlesworthy West enclosure</title>

On the lower slopes of Trowlesworthy Tor, above the marshes surrounding the Blacka Brook, are fund a couple of stone rows, one single and one double, each with its own cairn and circle of stones at their head. </description>

<title>Trowlesworthy Tor settlement</title>

On the western slopes of Trowlesworthy Tor, well above the marshes surrounding Blacka Brook are the well spread out remains of a large settlement, consisting of more than half a dozen large enclosures and related hut circles. </description>

<title>Legis Tor Enclosures</title>

On the southern slopes of Legis Tor, on the northen banks of the River Plym, are the remains of a substantial settlement, consisting of 4 main enclosures with almost 50 hut circles identified either in or between the encolsures. </description>
