Kerb Cairn in Stockport, Greater Manchester. Excavation of an inhumation cist uncovered about 100 amber beads, which would have formed a precious necklace from an elite group. Another find was a stone platform next to the cairn. Excavation of the cairn and its surroundings is continuing.</description>

<title>The Doffcocker Cross</title>

The Doffcocker cross, an Anglo-Saxon monument, stands just within the precint of the Roman Catholic church of St James the Great on Bowland Drive a few miles north-west of Bolton city centre. The A58 road is just a little north of the church. This odd-shaped cross is best viewed from Montserrat Road at the other side of the church. There is a well-tended little garden around the base of the cross.</description>

This estimated five ton glacial boulder, made of Andecite, stands at the side of a footpath at the eastern end of Broadfield Park, Rochdale, close to the St Alban's road entrance and not far from the bandstand. It had originally stood in a field at Cowm Top farm near Castleton, but was generously given as a gift to Broadfield Park.</description>

Possible Stone Circle in Greater Manchester. Rochdale's Stonehenge? Archaeologists claim to have unearthed a &quot;mini-Stonehenge&quot;... on the moors of Rochdale. The two nearby sites - an oval made up of collapsed slabs, and a 30-metre circle of rounded stones - are believed to be ancient burial sites dating back as far as 5,000 years. They were spotted by archaeologist Stuart Mendelsohn during a walk on the hills in December and could now become a major tourist attraction.</description>
