Hill Figure in Cambridgeshire

The remains of the figures either rediscovered or cut by TC Lethridge on Wandlebury camp. This was in the 1990s and they do not always appear visible. They are of the Gogamog face and the back of the horse I think!

It was a gallant effort by Leithbridge to try and identify figures, based solely on the intriguing folk name for the hill in his book 'Gods below the Gr

There is no archaeological evidence for these figures on the Gog Magog downs. Lethbridge used an iron rod to test the ground. Subsequent geophysical survey and excavation has identified his figure as formed of nothing more than solution hollows and tree-throws.

Did you check the location against the sign there? If you use Flash Earth (linked above) to zoom in on the area to the SE of the house, there are some ground disturbances a bit like the I remember reading the figures were like. Intriguing.
