An Iron Age rectilinear enclosure in Robin Hood's Arbour, Maidenhead Thicket, Berkshire

Samian ware was found in the area during excavations of the site by Mr H E Barnard in around 1890. Further excavations in 1960 by Mrs Cotton recovered Iron Age pottery and wattle marked daub. Other finds comprised flint implements including a Palaeolithic handaxe. These were all found in an area of Chalk geology. The finds are in Reading Museum. The enclosure has been mapped from aerial photographs.
