there is a Romano British settlement within a short distance and a temple and i have found some remains of a roman ford close by.
there is a roman road that comes from the east at magiovinium (dropshort/ fenny stratford) heading in a direction due west to Finmere possibly further to banbury or even stratford upon avon.
the romans did like to place tumuli close to their roads with exaplmes at stevenage, adwell cop by the romanised Icknield way in oxfordshire and bartlow in suffolk. | [ Reply to This ]
