PeterJMayhew visited on 2nd May 2022 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 2 Burton Howe overlooks the Cleveland escarpment and has a marker stone on top. There are good views. It is right by the Cleveland Way and can be visited as part of a tour of other local sites.

"Bronze Age round barrow of two constructional phases including kerb surviving as an earthwork. No trace of ditch. Excavation in 1956 revealed central cist, cremation burials and pottery. Boundary stone on mound."
