Me and my mate Wayne used to visit this cave often as kids back in the 80s. You could enter one of tunnels at the back of the cave and you'd loop back into the main cave through another hole though you had to do it crawling on your belly practically the whole way around. Funny thing is I can't recall taking a torch as it surely must have been near pitch black in the tunnel itself.

We must have imagined we were Indian Jones!

Accessible, vandalised with spray paint and rubbish but not TOO bad. Despite the large entrance you need to get quite close to spot it, in a rocky outcrop surrounded by trees.
The cave itself is quite large with three passages leading off. All are short, quickly becoming impassable but digging rubble floor may allow extension. Some archaeological interest in the past. There are two other entrances in the roof, one boarded over (but the boards are rotten).

we used to visit as kids it was said that it was connected to bolsover castle which of course was nonsence sadly it is litterd with the usual bottles and cans left by the youth of today sadly there are various tunnels leading off from inside and a hole in the roof possibly to act as a chimney
