Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Yorkshire (South)

With seven heads and twice seven eyes, the Wharncliffe Dragon is said to have drunk from this well, "not to be confused with the 'other' Dragons Well at Bolsterstone, a mile to the west". For more folklore on this well, see The Northern Antiquarian's (TNA) page for Dragon Well, Wharncliffe, South Yorkshire.

TNA give us two references which record this folk well, together with a couple of stanzas from the ‘An Excellent Ballad of a Dreadful Combat fought between Moore of Moore-Hall and the Dragon of Wantley' which make specific mention to the Dragon Well.
