Aldbourne Four Barrows
Aldbourne Four Barrows submitted by twentytrees : A very well preserved collection of four linear barrows (three bell, one bowl) south of Sugar Hill, north of Aldbourne with their interconnected ditches and berms intact. Photographing at the site is difficult since the field had been planted so this picture is from the westernmost barrow of the Gaints Grave cemetery. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Round Barrow(s) in Wiltshire

One of the barrows is clearly visible in the field adjacent to the B4192 Liddington-Aldbourne road, at the foot of the hill, under Four Barrow Down with a height of 1.5m and a width of 36m. The other barrow, west of the extant one ie nearer to the road, is no longer visible.

Most interestingly, when excavated in the late 19th century, the barrow was found to contain a cremation burial, a bronze dagger, amber beads, faience and a pygmy/grape cup known as the "Aldbourne Cup" which has become the type for these cups and is now located in the British Museum.
