Chambered Tomb with Long Mound in Gloucestershire

The mound is now covered with trees and enclosed by a dry-stone wall.

Bourton on the Hill
Bourton on the Hill submitted by Billythefish : Close up of the mound - very hard to photograph thanks to the wall, trees and undergrowth. The mound is really quite substantial as can be seen from this picture (I am six feet tall). I could see no signs of any entrance to the chamber. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Visited this site today, it sure is overgrown, found it at ,
Lat 51 59 14 N
Long 1 45 25 W
It is aligned east/west with its enterance at the southern end , I say this because of a dowsable arrangement of lines, that occur at other long barrows , and these occur across the entrance line of stones.
I fought my way in through the jungle, only to come face to face with a really big hawk like bird of prey, it never moved, but after a couple of minutes, I did, it had huge tallons, and I think I was on its territory?
Usually I try to dowse along the top of long barrows , to note where the spirals occur, but it was not possible, it needs clearing , the roots of the trees will destroy it?

Easy access, but up a private track and around the edge of a field. It is heavily overgrown but beautifuly located with far reaching views to the East over the upper Evenlode valley / Moreton in the Marsh.
Views to the West are over a far more intimate rolling landscape (unfortunately crossed by the busy A44).
