Watergate Long Barrow
Watergate Long Barrow submitted by BareClawz : Showing the vandalism that has occurred here. The footings (breeze blocks) for probably two of the water tanks that have now been pushed off and lay abandoned on the Southern flank of the barrow. There is a third tank present that is deep in the brambles and undergrowth. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Watergate Long Barrow
Watergate Long Barrow submitted by BareClawz : The top of the barrow. Talking to a local resident the area is frequented by youths who use it as a drinking den. The artwork would point towards that being true. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Watergate Long Barrow
Watergate Long Barrow submitted by BareClawz : This picture isn't quite all doom and gloom as it first appears. Note in the foreground the evidence of chain saw use. It seems a tree came down and was cut up and removed. All of it not just the part that was blocking the road to the farmhouse. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Watergate Long Barrow
Watergate Long Barrow submitted by BareClawz : From the top, looking North, showing general rubbish that some has been there for quite a long time. Mainly debris from the water tank base or pipework. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Watergate Long Barrow
Watergate Long Barrow submitted by BareClawz : Picture of Watergate Long Barrow. Sorry I'm mistaken, the Water Filled Water Tank on top of Watergate Long Barrow. Maybe they're hoping it will be declared a nature reserve and not need to clean the area up! (Vote or comment on this photo)

Watergate Long Barrow
Watergate Long Barrow submitted by BareClawz : There are three of these discarded water tanks on the site. How they have got away with erecting them and then just leaving them there when scrap I'd like to know. Somebody must know who this needs pointing out to and the site cleaning up.

Watergate Long Barrow
Watergate Long Barrow submitted by BareClawz : From the Northern side, showing how overgrown this site has been for many years for the trees to achieve the size they have. If I hadn't known it was a Long Barrow I'd not have been able to recognise it as such. (1 comment)
