The Lesser Cursus
The Lesser Cursus submitted by TimPrevett : The Lesser Cursus - now completely destroyed to the naked eye - would have started just to the right of this tower, viewed from the west of The Great Cursus. Winter Solstice 2010 (Vote or comment on this photo)
A cursus some 1200 feet by 180 feet north west from the Great Cursus near Stonehenge. All visible traces appear to have perished.

The Northern Antiquarian (TNA) features a page for this site - see their entry for Lesser Cursus, Larkhill, Wiltshire, which shows an aerial view of the site together with a ground plan from 1990, Fergusson's drawings of the Stonehenge Cursus and this Smaller/Lesser Cursus and a brief archaeology & history.

For more detailed information see Pastscape Monument No. 219543, a short extract of which reads: "Neolithic cursus comprising a rectangular enclosure, orientated west-south-west to east-north east, and 400 metres in length and 60 metres wide. The eastern end is open. Air photographs show that it was visible as an earthwork in 1934 but had been levelled by 1954."
