The Cops
The Cops submitted by astronomer : From the east, the mound is fairly evident. Note that in the immediate foreground, a field wall shown on the O.S. map and hitherto leading up to where the Hawthorn is, has been completely removed. (Vote or comment on this photo)

The Cops
The Cops submitted by astronomer : Viewed from the south, the Hawthorn appears to be planted on the edge of a low mound, possibly the remains of the barrow, that is crossed by the field boundary wall. (Vote or comment on this photo)

This is a very eroded site but quite easy to visit. Take the lane from the B5053 at Wardlow towards Ecton. After 150m branch right at the junction with Cowlow Lane and continue 100m down hill to the RH bend. Through the gate, the Manifold Way is initially followed as it curves eastwards but after about 100m leave the trail and follow the field wall as it climbs on the LHS until a field gate is seen straight ahead. Go through the gate and follow the wall on the LHS uphill until reaching an old Hawthorn bush on the summit. This essentially marks where The Cops barrow is shown on the O.S. map but unfortunately there's not a lot to see.
