Park in the village of Back o' the Brook. When we visited a lady was looking for her dog and we asked where was good to park and she let us park in front of her house. Opposite the lane with a ford is a footpath, which should be take... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Re: Waterfall Low by Anonymous on Friday, 15 January 2016
Waterfall Lowe sits just above our fields. We do suggest people stick to public footpaths as we have had to re direct members of the public who decide to go over farm gates as a short cut. It is also beneficial for safety reasons due to local farmers shooting rabbits and foxes. Summer is the best time to go up as the ground is hard and you can see for miles, it can be a bit of a daunting walk up when the ground Is boggy and wet and especially when cows are on the fields they curn it up with there feet making it slippy.I have lived on the farm for nearly 12 years now and I always love going up in the summer months and I tend to put my headphones in and have a good sing song to myself, it's just embarrassing if a nagbour seeks up on you singing lol. The nagbours in the area are very polite and nice.if you need directions there always seems to be someone around. Waterfall Lowe has taken some of my heart and I have grown up with it since I was 7, playing up there and singing. The Lowe is an ancient burial ground and the wall around is supposed to keep bad spirits out so I have been told and I believe every tree = one person buried there.it is elegal to dig there and flytipers are also braking the law. We have a beautiful family of buzzards at the lowe that have offspring there every year and recently in 2015 we have had barn owls, tawny owls and badgers. It is a beautiful place to be. I unfortunately can't say that the public are allowed to camp there or I would recommend it (if you do camp there you will be reported by a local to the police). Definitely go along and enjoy the view, you won't regret it, it's beautiful. Highly recommend summer for the royal hunt, red arrows, army training aircrafts and hot air blooms.

I live in Waterfall and feel it's worth pointing out that there isn't a public right of way to the Low. Access needs to be arranged with the landowner.

There is a footpath. I live on the farm with the land to the side that has the public footpath. You are only trespassing if you are going over farm gates without any public footpaths logo's. The Duke of Edinburgh people use the footpath and we suggest that the public use it to.
