Hazleton South
Hazleton South submitted by thecaptain : Hazleton South longbarrow is left clear in the field and is not currently ploughed up, although I would think it has been in the past. I would estimate the slight mound, maximum one metre in height, to be about 50 metres in length by 25 metres wide. (Vote or comment on this photo)

A geophys survey in 1980 suggest that this longbarrow once had a single lateral chamber.

There are two longbarrows marked here on my OS map, but when you get here, there is only the slight remains of one to be seen. This is the south barrow, as the nearby northern one has been completely destroyed by the excavations.

At least the southern barrow is left clear in the field and is not currently ploughed up, although I would think it has been in the past. I would estimate the slight mound, maximum one metre in height, to be about 50 metres in length by 25 metres wide.
