Round Barrow in Cheshire

This tumulus lies close to the Old Leek Road near Macclesfield, very close to the site of the supposed henge and the Woodhouse End Beaker Barrow. Note: Please note this barrow is located on private land but can be easily viewed from the nearby road.

Broad Oak Farm submitted by astronomer : This tumulus stands at the top of what has been described as a 'ceremonial trackway' running between here and the nearby 'Gawsworth henge'. The double 'track' is certainly curious but examination of the local geology strongly suggests its a natural fault line between two distinct bedrocks, the Bollin Mudstones and the Tarporley Siltstone Formation that runs N-S immediately west of the Leek Old R...
