Ring Cairn in Aberdeenshire

This ring cairn/s (the OS Map shows 2) lies in the next field to Auchlee Stone Circle. Like the RSC it is badly damaged and difficult to fully understand. To the East (where the second cairn might be) is a thick mound of gorse.

Auchlee Cairn submitted by hamilton : Auchlee Ring Cairn is situated on a low knoll 260 m NNE of Auchlee farmhouse. It measures 10.3 metres in diameter within a stony bank 1.3 m in thickness by 0.3 m high. In this photograph, a composite of three frames taken by an elevated camera, the ring is clearly discerned, lying to the east of the single large block standing on the west of the bank.
