I have been fascinated by this site for some time, as most references to it say the stones disappeared in the 1860's, but there is one source which says the grid reference given for the circle is incorrect and traces of it still remains. Loving a challenge, and having glimpsed this site from a distance over the North Tyne, I wrote to the owners asking if it was possible to walk across their 'Great Field'.

I got a reply this morning, to say they do not open the grounds to the public, but at some point in future they may re-open the gardens for charity, when it will be possible to walk over the field, so to watch out for notices.

In the meantime, the owner says there is a footpath which runs through the park, which I am welcome to use, but doesn't go close to the actual site of the stone circle.
