Hillforts in Scottish Borders. A series of linked hillforts, outliers and defensive earthworks running along the ridge north of the B6438 road from Reston to Preston.

(Ref. NT 803602 to 817612)
They show a complete understanding of defensive warfare with allowance for defending attacks along the ridge; frontal assaults and those across the flat area to rear of the position. Tree cover spoils the overall viewing of the site.
There is a further earthwork to the east at Warlawbankwhich may be part of the same defensive group (Ref. NT 832620).
