Standing Stone (Menhir) in Aberdeenshire

This standing stone is in broadleaved woodland some 100 yards WSW of the farmhouse of the same name. In his 1917 Antiquaries article Ritchie suggested that it was the remains of a stone circle with the rest of the stones being used in the building of the nearby Monymusk Church. Given that it is comparatively small (at four and half feet high) it would be surprising if it was left behind if this was the case.

Canmore site no. 18064.
