The remains of this souterrain are in a copse of trees in the middle of a field. The farmer has used the enclosed area for dumping large stones from the field and the rabbits have been having fun so this is the best I can do!

Me and my friend searched for this souterrain which is given notice and a map in volume 4 of Proceedings of the Society of Antiquities in Scotland. This however dated from the 1880's, when it was obviously an intact and impressive structure. It is now marked on the OS Explorer maps as the reamins of a souterrain. It is in an wooded enclosure in the middle of a cultivated field. However , we could find no trace of the structure remaining, although there are many large slabs which may have been lintels and a pile of stones near the south west end, which possibly is the remains of the terminal bulge. I'll post a photo of this as soon as my scanner is working. (--I'm Steven Doig, and i just registered today, so I don't have a password yet!!)
