Roundton submitted by w650marion : The view NNW. Beacon Ring hillfort is in the centre of the skyline. The intervisability of the hillforts in the Marches and their use as part of a system of land management was the subject of an interesting talk by Dave Matthews at several local archaeological societies. Roundton
Roundton submitted by w650marion : Roundton Hillfort may not appear particularly interesting in itself as it is quite small and rocky, but the views are particularly significant. There’s a theory that hillforts like this are a part of the management of important pasture.
