This well was once in my grandfather’s garden. I grew up beside the well, believing it to be a faerie well and connected to Bedd, a lord of Northern Gwent who would be adopted into Arthurian lore as Sir Bedivere. Possibly frequented in the Iron Age.

Visited the well today. Currently dry due to not much rain. I spoke to Reverend Matt Davis about it. He said it hasn't been capped. So that's fantastic news as we were a little concerned to see it dry. Maybe another trip after rain is a good idea.

There is also a Llansannan in Denbighshire, and the saint's name is associated with Llantrisant, Anglesey, and also Bedwellty, Glamorgan. He was probably a 5th Century bishop.
