The Borland Stone
The Borland Stone submitted by Nick : A small stone perched on a low hilltop, just off the A93 through Glenshee. About 5 miles south of Spittal of Glenshee is a small road which runs east towards Glenisla, signposted for Blacklunans. On a bend in the road about a mile in there is sufficient space to park - the stone itself can be glimpsed just on the small hilltop. Standing Stone in Perthshire

Information on this standing stone can be found on Canmore ID 29401which says this stone is: "a thin slab of granite, 1.0m high, 0.7m wide and 0.2m thick, oriented NE.SW, with a few loose stones heaped around its base. Known locally as the 'Borland Stone' from the farm on which it is situated. Visited by OS (WDJ) 25 April 1968 .... (sited) on a prominent rise some 280m SE of Borland steading; the E side is slightly convex and the inner part of the W side is concave."
