Multiple Stone Rows or Avenue in Highland, one of possibly fourteen in total

Update September 2019: This stone row is recorded as Canmore ID 8265, which discusses some thirteen or fourteen rows, being set on a rounded, heather-clad knoll. Canmore describes the rows as being "somewhat irregularly placed, some 3 to 5ft distant from each other in the rows, and the rows 6 to 7ft apart at the narrower end of the monument. On the crest of the hillock are two low mounds or cairns from which the rows appear to radiate".

This row is also featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Dirlot, North, which includes a description, photographs, two simplified plans of the Dirlot North alignment and its associated cairns, access information and a section discussion landscape reveals which come into play as you walk along the row. The SRoGB also includes links to other online resources for more information.

Dirlot (North)
Dirlot (North) submitted by SandyG : View from the south showing the knoll upon which the rows were erected. The use of this locally prominent feature ensured a visual reveal of the cairns at the top of the slope and the landscape beyond. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Dirlot (North)
Dirlot (North) submitted by SandyG : The largest stone measures 0.52m high. In common with many multiple rows the largest stones are at the lower end of the alignment. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Dirlot (North) submitted by SandyG : A thick covering of heather makes it very difficult to see the stones, most of which are very small.
