Balnabroich
Balnabroich submitted by golux : The third stone in this pair! This sits alone about 200m N of the pair of standing stones. It is 5'8" high according to a report quoted on the RCAHMS webpage. (Vote or comment on this photo)
One Single and a Pair of Standing Stones in Perthshire

This site is described on Canmore 27267, which says that "two stones stand on a natural mound. The stone on the N is a rough mass of whinstone 4'2" high with a basal girth of 10'9". Close in front of its E edge is a small, flat, apparently earth-fast block, nearly flush with the ground" and give the grid references as NO 0916 5658 and NO 0916 5674.

Confusingly, the Canmore entry goes onto say there are "three standing stones ... 'A' in an open field ..... immediately S of this stone is a large flat slab about 1' below ground level which he has caught several times with (the) plough but is too heavy to move. Stones 'B' and 'C' stand on top of a narrow glacial ridge, a prominent, though restricted, position which indicates that the stones have never been part of a stone circle or cairn. The "small, flat, apparently earth-fast block" is part of the packing around the base of stone 'B'. The grid reference of the third stone is given as NO 0917 5675.

These stones are also described on The Northern Antiquarian (TNA). See their page for Balnabroich, Kirkmichael, Perthshire. TNA give directions for finding these stones, together with photographs and the archaeology and history of the immediate area. TNA tells us that the single stone, sitting in the open field (now used as a cattle rubbing stone), may have at "one time in its distant past have been related to the present pair of standing stones hiding in the small remain of trees 148 yards (135.5m) to the south."

Balnabroich submitted by golux : View looking N across the natural mound on which these two stones stand. The cube-like boulder in mid frame is the 1.35m high north stone (stone A). In front of it to the left is the south stone (stone B). (Information taken from RCAHMS webpage). About 200m due N of this pair sits a third standing stone (confusingly described as "stone A" in the 1973 report quoted by RCAHMS). You can see it in t... (Vote or comment on this photo)

Not just two standing stones, there is a third about 200m N of this pair.
Just to add to the confusion, RCAHMS have 2 webpages for this site. One page refers to the pair of stones (link) and the other refers to all three (link)!
