Gelli Hill Cairn A submitted by TimPrevett : View eastwards across much of the "Walton Basin" - a rich archaeological landscape. Notice the digging in the cairn to form shelters. (Vote or comment on this photo)
An enormous cairn 70 feet in diameter by 10 feet high, SE from the Gelli Hill stone circle. Has been interfered with to create a shelter, and mounted by a trig point.

Gelli Hill Cairn A
Gelli Hill Cairn A submitted by TimPrevett : The silhouette of the cairn approaching sunset. The diameter of this cairn is considerable, and I think must rank among the taller cairns I have visited. See pictures of the circle looking towards here for an idea of the size of the mound in context of the landscape.

Not sure why the access here is given as a 2? The walk is 2 miles (ie a 4 mile round trip), most of which is on a shingle path.

Hi Simon. I guess it depends how old and how fit you are. If I had a two-mile-each-way walk in a hilly area like that I'd probably grade it as '2', also. ;-)
