Coed-Pen-Maen Common
Coed-Pen-Maen Common submitted by Robc : Situated near the modern stone circle with its Rocking Stone is this Bronze Age ring Cairn with cist. It is in a very poor state. In the back ground is the Coed-Pen-Maen standing stone. (Vote or comment on this photo)
A ruinous ring 5.8 metres internal diameter of 12 stones with a central cist of which only one visible stone remains. The cairn was excavated in 1830 when a small triangular cist was reportedly found containing fine dust, burnt bones and what were probably rivets of a dagger handle.
