Cwm Rhiwiau
Cwm Rhiwiau submitted by TimPrevett : This picture shows four stones on the NE arc of the circle, looking to the higher rocky outcrop to the NW, which provides a useful point of reference. I have visited the nearby Rhos y Beddau circle and rows twice since Feb 2000; on this, my third visit, I was determined to find the other reported circle, Cwm Rhiwiau. The stones are indeed there, the tallest stones no more than ankle height. We... (Vote or comment on this photo)
Ancient site in Powys

A dozen stones remain, under 40cm tall, of this circle, with two outliers, one a little to the north, the other futher to the south. It is of unproven antiquity, with possible alignment to Rhos y Beddau about 1300ft south. The two outliers seem to align with the cairn at the end of the stone row associated with Rhos y Beddau stone circle (about 1300 ft south). If looking to locate the circle, from Rhos Y Beddau look north to a rocky outcrop. Look down to the right for a lighter coloured patch of grass. Then, very carefully pick your way through the boggy stretches, working out which is the best route for you to cross the stream which runs in the clough which you need to cross. The stones very much put me in mind of the Cefn Maen Amor circle a mile or two from Druid's Circle further north.

Cwm Rhiwiau
Cwm Rhiwiau submitted by TimPrevett : Showing the scale of the stones at this circle against my boot! Thankfully a GPS helped us get the correct location. Also notice how wet the trousers are - the terrain is extremely and unavoidably boggy in places. I have visited the nearby Rhos y Beddau circle and rows twice since Feb 2000; on this, my third visit, I was determined to find the other reported circle, Cwm Rhiwiau. The stones are...
