Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by postman : Some how I missed the two largest cairns due to being totally cream crackered and eager to get back to the car. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Barrow Cemetery in Denbighshire (Sir Ddinbych)

From Llandrillo take south heading lane towards and passing through tiny hamlet of Pennant to a house called Rhyd y Gethin. Seeing as I didn't come this way, but instead a very circuitous tortuous route from elsewhere, I cant really say how to get there from Rhyd Y Gethin but only to say the cairn cemetery is up hill beyond the trees.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : The green bump by the trees is a ruined cairn, possibly more in the trees. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Cist gone? Fences separate two of the Yr Aran cairns from it's neighbours, and the Rhyd-y-Gethin cairns. weird place.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Ever heard of the Berwyn incident? supposed UFO crash, seen it on TV? then you probably saw the buggy drivers granddad in that programme. I have.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Rhyd-y-Gethin cairn II is up by the sheep

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : An Yr Aran cairn or three

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Rhyd-y-Gethin cairns, against the Berwyn mountains

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Rhyd-y-Gethin cairn 1 and mystery bonus cairn not mentioned anywhere. Or vice versa

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Rhyd-Gethin cairn 1 with 2 above and left.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : The biggest cairn here, I don't think the quartz is original and it may hide an intact cist. Coflein says the other Rhyd-y-Gethin cairn has an intact cist, it does not.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Yr Aran

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Rhyd-y-Gethin cairn II, the mountain in "shade" is Foel Cwm Sian Llwyd itself cairn topped

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Rhyd-y-Gethin cairn II, it's got a lot of quartz

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Yr Aran cairn II the other Yr Aran cairns are down by the trees.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Yr Aran cairn II, whilst over the fence is the quartzy Rhyd-y-Gethin cairn II, how can Coflein give them different names?

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by Postman : Rhyd-y-Gethin cairn II. Ive grouped these Rhyd-y-Gethin cairns with the Yr Aran cairns, coflein is a bit wrong here, their description of the, and the number of the cairns is wrong. the mountain hiding in the mist is Foel Cwm Sian llwyd, it's got a cairn too.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by postman : Yr Aran cairn

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by postman : Of course they could be clearance cairns, two in this picture.

Yr Aran
Yr Aran submitted by postman : The opened and broken cist of one of the cairns
