Ring Cairn in Powys. Although the cairn is not set at any great height, it affords extensive views over the Usk Valley to Pen y Fan, the highest point in The Brecon Beacons and in the Southern half of Wales

Archwilio names this site as Llewyn y Merched Cairn and suggests it is a Ring Barrow. It also gives the Community as Yscir. Aberyscir seems to be the nearest local settlement. The OS ref. is accurate and the picture genuine.

I lived as a child and youth in Aberyscir. I spent many years investigating historic sites in the area. There are no ring cairns to my knowledge in the area that would be described as being in Aberyscir, Brecon.
