This cairn is recorded on the OS map and in some reliable sources, but no period has been ascribed to it.
Similarly recorded are the following undated antiquities, both within a few yards of the cairn and having the same names:
Ffynnon Mary Burnt Mound at SN98246018, an elongated mound, measuring 35' x30' and about 3' high
Ffynnon Mary Spring at SN9821460201, the source of a small stream, now overgrown with reeds.
Ffynnon Mary suggests the Medieval period?
