There are stopping places,but choose carefully as it is further across the heather than you think. It can be very boggy in the spring. The stone is about 10ft tall. Standing Stone in Highland

This wonderful Stone is about 6 miles up the road inland from Lothbeg. There are stopping places, but choose carefully as it is further across the heather than you think. It can be very boggy in the spring. The stone is about 10ft tall. The silence here is most wonderful, there is absolutely nothing to break it but the occasional buzzard.

Clach Mhic Mhios submitted by h_fenton : This standing stone has been shot! Twice!! Detail photograph showing recent looking damage to the Clach Mhic Mhios standing Stone in Glen Loth, Sutherland. I think the stone has been shot twice in recent times revealing the colour of the red sandstone. If you look in the centre of the image there is a much older circular mark (covered in lichen), also possibly from the stone being shot. ...
