Tyle Bychan submitted by sem : Not very picturesque and like many stones ruined by the agriculture going on around them. However it does have one saving grace - Fan Brycheiniog is visible from here. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Standing Stones in Powys

This stone(s) stands in the entrance to a field next to the A4215. Interestingly, for those who have been looking at my pictures recently, Fan Brycheiniog is visible from it. (according to RCHAMW)

Returning from a walk round the Black Mountain, I made a quick stop to visit this stone. I had seen Sem's photo of a stone in the gateway, so nipped out of the car to take a couple of photos, and was quite unimpressed, although the largest of the stones there looked like it might be a genuine ancient standing stone, but probably now placed along with many other large stones at the edge of the field. Now I am home, I see that this stone has been turned around somewhat, and its axis is across the line of the wall.

However, I now also see the note and picture from NickyD, and did not see that large sized stone at all (because I didn't look). Never mind, its a reason for another visit sometime!

This position of this stone is slightly different to that on the OS map. Also I don't think the picture posted here is of the stone!

I've visited this site twice but only managed a picture the second time. The OS map marks the stone on the opposite side of the road amongst the bushes and that's where the stone can be found. We came from Defynnog on the A4215, passed the track leading to Llwynstyffilin, then, after the road bends left the stone, we pulled in on the first track/driveway on the left, walked back on the verge torward the way we just came and found the stone in the trees/bushes near where the section of vegetation ends.
