This old engraving - "Site of Dundee's Death" - shows the Claverhouse stone portrayed by W H Bartlett [from Mary Evans Picture Library]. I found it in 'Two Men in a Trench II', by Neil Oliver and Tony Pollard. Under the picture: "The Claverhouse Stone, one of the supposed sites of Dundee's death. Urrard House can be seen in the trees on the high ground.

Claverhouses Stone in Perth&Kinross at NN908631. Although named after a defeated Jacobite this stone stands on the other side of Kirriemuir from the battle site and looks much older.

Interesting about Claverhouse's stone. However, a correction is called for: it wasn't named after a "defeated" Jacobite, but rather John Graham of Claverhouse, Viscount Dundee, who won the nearby Battle of Killiecrankie for the Jacobites in 1689.
