Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Somerset

Go through Allerford to Bossington, climb up the hill trackway and take a gate on the right to a footpath through the woods along the contour of the hill for a few hundred yards.

A water source which issues into a small chamber from an old pipe set amongst large stones in the hillside at the junction of several National trust footpaths. Has the appearance of a Victorian "Grotto" and indeed references in a NT Walks leaflet and in the diary of the rector of Selworthy in 1824, suggest the fountain was named after the youngest daughter of Sir Thomas Acland who owned the Estate.
