Stone Row / Alignment in Sutherland

The information for this stone row and its surrounding complex of monuments comes from the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Learable Hill, Row 4.

The SRoGB describes this row as being "A probable fan-shaped multiple stone row measuring 8m long, including at least 8 small and medium-sized stones arranged in 4 separate lines situated at the eastern end of a terrace overlooking the Strath of Kildonan. The row is orientated north to south, has been damaged since it was first recorded … The row stands in an area with 3 other stone rows, a standing stone, stone circle and further cairns".

The Stone Rows of Great Britain entry includes a plan of the four stone alignments, the standing stone and the excavated cairn, plus photographs of the alignment, access information and a list of online resources for more information.

The row is also recorded as Canmore ID 6718, which describes the four rows as being in two sets, one running east-west, the other north-west to south-east. The rows are also described on the Highland HER; see MHG9516 (Stone Rows, Learable Hill), and are scheduled as SM1803 (Learable Hill, stone rows, circles, cross-marked stone & settlements) on the Historic Environment Scotland website.
