From Cemmaes road/Glantwymyn take the A470 towards Newtown but turn immediately right down a thin steep lane that is a dead end. Park at the end. Walk from here towards Cefncoch-uchaf farm house. You should be able to see the stone on your right in its field. Ask at house for permission.
It's not the best Maen Llwyd ive ever seen. It leans heavily to the south, if I remember right, and is only maybe three feet tall. No views to speak of except that to the east south east.
